Doppler is a kinetic light and sound installation that reflects – literally and conceptually – on movement, perception, and presence.
Three transparent acrylic columns contain rotating double-mirrored panels lit from within, paired with directional sound. As mirrors spin, they fragment and reflect their surroundings, casting shifting patterns of light, shadow, and sound.
Inspired by the Doppler effect – a change in wave frequency caused by motion – the work explores how physical disturbance becomes signal, and how reflection, both optical and conceptual, shapes our understanding of space and self. Doppler draws attention to the subtle, often invisible ways technology senses and reframes the human world.
