Loop is a dynamic light and sound installation in which multiple individual elements form a spatial composition that can be experienced both from a distance and at close range. Light and sound are closely interconnected, unfolding as a continuous composition that interacts with the surrounding space.
From a distance, Loop appears as a larger rhythmic structure, with patterns of light and sound moving across the installation. As the audience approaches and moves through or around the work, individual sounds and shifts in light become more distinct, revealing a complex, immersive soundscape.
Loop explores the relationship between sound, light and space, and how these elements influence our perception of our surroundings. Rather than functioning as separate components, light and sound form a dynamic whole in constant flux, changing according to the listener’s position and perspective.
The work continues Søren Lyngsø Knudsen’s exploration of multi-channel sound and audio-reactive visual systems. Loop is both a spatial installation and a multi-channel composition in which sound, light and physical structure are conceived as parts of the same system.
